Chewing with Chandanam

(Jeremiah 15:16) 4/2021

“The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.” (Revelation 3:12)

Revelation 3:7–13 is a letter to the church at Philadelphia, containing a promise. It is true now and for eternity. We are God’s temple and the Holy Spirit dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19). Like in ancient ruins where we usually see only pillars still standing, we need to stand firm and not sway or fall whatever happens around us. The pandemic has affected everyone one way or another but how we, the pillars of His temple, come out of it, however scared or scathed, would be a testament to our faith and the church. This is an opportunity to testify to the world that though we are vulnerable like everyone else, we will not be defeated but be victorious because we bear the name of the Lord God Almighty.

Brothers and sisters, let’s show the world that we do “...not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). We live according to God’s promises not according to the desires of our flesh or the pattern of this world (Romans 8:5; 12:2). The more the pillars, standing firm, the stronger the building. Let’s stand together for the world to see that Jesus is the master builder and no building of His can be destroyed (Matthew 16:18).

Dear Church, a revival awaits us and this pandemic is our open door to spread the gospel. How we stand, in, through and out of this pandemic will speak columns of Christ redemptive power. (John 10:10; Job 19:25-26).
