Chewing with Chandanam
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46).
Matthew 14:22-33 - Jesus said, “Come.” So, Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”
Committing our life to Jesus is like stepping out of the boat and walking on the water. It’s tough waters buffeted by winds and waves. As Christians we must show the world that we can walk on water because our eyes are on Jesus and not on the storms of life. If we take our eyes off Jesus then we will start sinking and if we still don’t cry out to him, we will eventually drown. Jesus rebukes Peter, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” Jesus says the same to us every time we take our eyes off Him and focus on our circumstances - “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” Jesus calls us to walk on water not because we can but because he is on the water with us!
This is my prayer that we will rise above the waves and stand firm against the wind knowing that we can do all things through Him who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13) because if God is for us nothing can be against us, Amen! (Romans 8:31; 2 Chronicles 32:6-8).
